Welcome to my website! My name is Akylas and I am currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Energy Systems and Data Analytics at the UCL Energy Institute, University College London. Before that, I was a Research Associate at Electric Power Innovation for a Carbon-free Society Centre (EPICS-UK), Imperial College London and a PhD candidate at Mines Paris, PSL University. My research develops machine-learning and optimization methods for reliable, low-carbon energy systems. I focus on decision-aware forecasting, robust and prescriptive analytics, and data-driven tools for power-system and building operations. In my spare time, I watch movies (check out my Letterboxd), work out, and enjoy London's vibrant cultural scene.

- Mar-2026 — Our paper titled Constructing Deployment Scenarios for Reserve Deliverability via Adaptive Robust Optimization has been accepted at the 2026 Power Systems Computation Conference!
- Jan-2026 — I am leading the Energy Data Analytics in the Built Environment module, which is part of the Energy Systems and Data Analytics (ESDA) MSc program. The module includes a range of coding exercises on data analytics for managing and analyzing building energy (git repo)
- Dec-2025 — I received an Outstanding Reviewer award for IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy.
- Oct-2025 — Our paper titled Learning Data-Driven Uncertainty Set Partitions for Robust and Adaptive Energy Forecasting with Missing Data has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid!
