Welcome to my website! My name is Akylas and I am currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Energy Systems and Data Analytics at the UCL Energy Institute, University College London. Before that, I was a Research Associate at Electric Power Innovation for a Carbon-free Society Centre (EPICS-UK), Imperial College London and a PhD candidate at Mines Paris, PSL University. My research develops and validates data-driven solutions to support the planning and operations of low-carbon power and energy systems. Methodologically, I work on the interesection between machine learning, optimization, forecasting, and power and energy systems. In my spare time, I watch movies (check out my Letterboxd), work out, and enjoy London's vibrant cultural scene.
You can find more about my research and other activities in Publications, Talks, and my CV. I am open to collaborations and will soon be looking to hire a PhD student. If you are mathematically inclined, curious, and passionate about data and decarbonization, feel free to reach out!
